Send a Secure Text

Location: Workspace

In order to send a Secure Text the patient must have a cell phone number and date of birth saved in the Updox Address Book. The date of birth will be used to authenticate the patient's identity before allowing them to view the message.

Send a Secure Text:

1.From the Inbox select the Text Message button located at the top of the screen.

2.Select the Secure Message option.

3.The Enable Patient Responses checkbox is checked by default. If you do not want the patient to respond to the message, un-check Enable Patient Responses. Responses from the patient will come into the practice inbox.

4.Enter the patient's cell phone number or search by name or partial name.

5.Enter your message or select a template by clicking on the Template drop down.

6.Add files or links as needed.

7.Click Send Message.

8.When the patient replies to a text, a new item will appear in the practice Inbox and their response will be added to the original message thread.

Note: The Greeting Message is a separate text that is sent to the patient and includes a link to authenticate their identity before they can see your message. You cannot change the greeting Message.
